Outcome Area Roundtables
Each outcome area roundtable focuses on one of the five outcome areas Los Angeles County has adopted with regard to child well-being—good health, safety and survival, economic well-being, social and emotional well-being, and achievement and workforce readiness. The roundtables support, build on, and connect existing efforts in that outcome area and have identified at least one doable action that would make a positive difference for children and families in the short term. They are organized from a primary prevention perspective, have a broad membership—including, in particular, interested members of the SPA/AIC Councils and their community-building groups and neighborhood action councils—and are co-chaired by government and community representatives.

Projects: Oversee an emerging partnership between PACE (Pacific Asian Consortium
in Employment) and existing community-building groups on an economic development
strategy that would pilot the training of community residents in creating
home-based small businesses, beginning with 15 residents in SPA 8, 30 residents
in SPA 7, and 15 residents in SPA 3.
Through the Greater Los Angeles Economic Alliance (an emerging regional collaborative), develop innovative outreach and enrollment strategies—such as tax days—to significantly increase the number of EITC filings in all eight SPAs and in the community served by the American Indian Children’s Council.
